COVID-19 Safety Message

My Commitment to Your Safety

The year of 2020 has brought extraordinary circumstances to each of us. Through these times, I have adopted a vision of creativity and inspiration to raise the bar of what I do and how to expand breastfeeding support services to new families. As always, my care is based on health and safety guidelines, current practice knowledge, evidence-supported care and years of expertise.

I recognize this is an interesting time for bringing a new baby into the world and you may have some uncertainty and unease about interacting with people outside your immediate family, even if they are health care providers. It is an honor and a privilege for me to be invited into your home to support you with your breastfeeding needs, and that’s a responsibility I take very seriously. I want you to know I have increased my already stringent practice procedures, so you can feel safe and confident in the care I provide when we work together, and so all the families I work with know we are working together to protect each other.

Being a new parent is hard enough—let’s spend our time together confidently and at ease, so you can continue enjoying every moment with your precious baby!
What I am doing for you...
  • I limit the number of in-home visits to a maximum of two each day (one in the morning, one in the afternoon).

  • I screen for symptoms and ask:

    • Have you or anyone in your household had a fever, or signs/symptoms of respiratory illness (cough or shortness of breath), loss of taste/smell, fatigue related to illness (not related to giving birth).

    • Have you or anyone in your household come into contact with a laboratory confirmed COVID-19 patient within the past 14 days?

    • If you answer “yes” to either of these questions, we will need to consider an alternative to an in-home consultation.

  • I wear a medical grade mask throughout our visit and ask that you wear a mask as well.

  • I always wash my hands frequently and use hand sanitizer between washings if necessary.

  • I wear gloves as appropriate.

  • I thoroughly clean and disinfect all equipment used during our visit before I come into your home, and when we finish.

  • I change clothes between client visits.

  • My family and I follow the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) and the CDC's mandates, public health orders, and recommendations.

  • I have received two vaccines!

What you can do for me...
  • Please tell me if you or anyone in your household has any symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, fever, loss of taste or smell), or if you develop symptoms/test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of our visit.

  • Follow CDC and public health guidelines & orders for social distancing and mask wearing in public.

  • Wear a mask during our in-home visits.
